State Grid Simulation Center
State Grid Simulation Centre (SGSC), including digital-analogue hybrid simulation and digital hybrid simulation, is the first international AC-DC electromagnetic coupling image simulation platform with state-of-the-art simulation system size, simulation capability and technique. It can provide comprehensive analysis and understanding of grid operation characteristics to meet the demand of grid development planning and support the Dispatch Centre with the control limit-configuring and strategy-making. It acquires full scoop of operation and control mechanism of the network with large and complicated size to provide technical support for the planning, construction of the strong smart grid with UHV as backbone network and security and stability of network operation. It makes positive contributions to the security of national energy and the rapid development of national economy. SGSC is currently the research base of power grid technology experiment and engineering construction, the training centre of the technical personnel, and the test base of the international power technology exchanges, opening-up and cooperation.
SGSC is constituted by the following four teams--Digital and Analogy Hybrid Simulation Laboratory (DAHSL), Digital Hybrid Simulation Laboratory (DHSL), Simulation Software Research Section (SSRS) and Operational Data Management Office (ODMO). DAHSL investigates critical technology on planning, control of the UHV grid and large AC-DC transmission systems, and tests AC-DC grid control schemes and devices. It integrates digital simulation and analogue simulation to take the advantage of the both. DHSL investigates technology on power system dispatch, operation and control, conducts tests for the hardware and software system, and provides dynamic security assessment and decision support service. Researches are mainly conducted based on the digital simulation system of large-size AC-DC network. Digital real-time simulation is adopted and integrated autonomic-developed digital real-time simulation system, energy management system and wide area measurement system are applied. SSRS has a variety of power system digital simulation software with mature functionality. The softwares enable exploration of the multi-time-scale complete process of electromagnetic transient simulation, electromechanical transient simulation, mid-term and long-term dynamic simulation with a timeframe from milliseconds to tens of minutes in super-size AC-DC systems. ODMO builds libraries for models and parameters of typical power system devices and helps the maintenance, inspection and use of dispatching data of all levels. It enables tracing of the change process of model parameters and realise the standardisation of data management, unification of data inspection and sharing of information for network dispatch and planning at all levels. It also provides accurate and reliable benchmarking data for simulation of complicated AC-DC grid.
