Laboratory on Power Consumption Information Collection and Application Technology

Laboratory on Power Consumption Information Collection and Application Technology is located in Qinghe Campus of China Electric Power Research Institute. Approved as a key laboratory of State Grid Corporation of China in 2014, the Laboratory is in the charge of State Grid Corporation of China and is operated and managed by Metrology Department under China Electric Power Research Institute.

With power consumption information collection technology, intelligent watt-hour meter technology, intelligent sensing technology and power consumption information key security technology as the key research directions, the Laboratory has worked out optimizing and upgrading scheme for power consumption information acquisition system, realized rapid processing, reliable transmission, intelligent analysis, high-speed transmission and bidirectional interaction of power utilization data through research and development of new-generation highly reliable real-time power consumption information collection system as well as research on intelligent watt-hour meter performance evaluation analysis and electricity larceny prevention technology, and watt-hour meter running condition test simulation technology. Meanwhile, the Laboratory engages in research and protection of corporate power consumption information key management system, research and development of special power generation encryption device and test system, and research and development of on-site service terminal based on national secret technology, so as to promote large-scale application of key security technology in such new services as electric car metering and billing, electronic payment, and energy efficiency monitoring.

The Laboratory is equipped with domestically advanced systems for metering product and power consumption information collection equipment full-performance test, communication test, key security test, electromagnetic compatibility test, environment test, element test and reliability test. It undertakes full-performance test on intelligent watt-hour meter and power consumption information collection system prior to collective public bidding conducted by State Grid Corporation of China, and undertakes national quality supervision and spot check of watt-hour meter, power distribution products and electrical products as ordered by General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China. In addition, the Laboratory undertakes quality supervision and inspection, type test and entrusted inspection of watt-hour meter, electricity transmitter, electric power load management system, electric energy remote terminal, distribution network automation system as well as power distribution, consumption and communication products.
