(1) Research on Power Distribution Network Self-healing Control Technology: analysis and control of complicated fault, risk alarm and prevention, energy management on energy interconnection, analysis, evaluation and control of power distribution network containing large-scale distributed power source/flexible load, and research on future development form of power distribution system and technology and other application, basic and perspective key technologies for power distribution network; R&D of power distribution network self-healing control system and key equipment

(2) Research on Distributed Power Supply Access Technology: research on technical specifications for distributed power supply access to power distribution network, and research on scheduling and operation of power distribution network containing distributed power source as well as new control strategy and the mutual influence. Research on key technology for virtual synchronous machine, research on micro-grid technology, and R&D of AC/DC hybrid micro-grid test platform

(7) Research on Advanced Distribution Automation Technology and its Application: R&D of unified supporting platform for smart power distribution terminal, smart power distribution area,  power distribution terminal interoperability, distribution equipment state monitoring and evaluation, distribution network fault location and isolation, distribution network running state control and comprehensive evaluation, and other key technologies for advanced distribution automation; formulation and revision of corresponding technical standards for distribution automation, which can provide powerful technical support for top-level design of distribution automation technical route

(3) Research on Optimized Planning Technology for Smart Power Distribution Network: research on reliability optimized planning technology, typical power supply mode of distribution network and target network frame, evaluation analysis and planning technology for distributed power supply and diversified load access to distribution network, primarily and secondarily coordinated intelligent distribution network planning and construction mode, development of  software for distribution network planning, calculation an analysis and aided decision making; formulation and revision of technical standards for distribution network planning and design

(4) Research and Application of Hhealth Index Theory and Engineering Implementation System for Modern Power Distribution Network: research on health index evaluation method for key power transformation and distribution equipment and power distribution network, screening and identification technology for health index state information data, distribution network planning model and method based on health index theory, and optimized maintenance strategy for power distribution network; development of software for distribution network health index evaluation system, planning and aided decision-making software based on health index of distribution network, and aided decision-making software for distribution network maintenance and replacement; demonstrative application of the achievements of theory and technology research

(5) Research on Distribution Data Application Technology: research on distribution network operation efficiency evaluation and optimization technology based on big data technology,  fine management technology and panoramic risk control; construction of distribution data supporting platform and operation analysis center
